We sell charts, not your information.

What we collect, and why

When you buy a chart we collect what fulfilling the order requires: your name, email address, shipping address, and what you ordered. Payment happens on Stripe — your card number goes to Stripe, not to us, and we never see or store it.

When you browse, we use PostHog analytics to understand what people look at — which charts, which colors — so we can make better ones. That's usage data, not identity: we're counting interest in Nantucket, not profiling you.

Advertising measurement

We advertise on Instagram and Facebook, and we want to know whether those ads bring people here. So we use Meta's pixel and its server-side Conversions API to report page views, Studio visits, and purchases back to Meta. When you buy, Meta receives your email address and name as one-way hashes, plus your city, state and ZIP, so it can tell an ad click from a purchase. Meta uses that to measure our ads and to decide who else sees them; how Meta handles it is governed by Meta's own privacy policy.

You can switch this off for your browser below, and if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal we treat that as switched off without being asked.

Who touches your data

Stripe processes payment. Resend delivers your order confirmation and shipping emails. Our print partner receives your name and shipping address — they need to put the tube on a truck to your door. Supabase stores our order records, and Vercel hosts the site. Each gets only what its job requires.

We do not sell your information or rent it. The only marketing use is the advertising measurement described above, which you can turn off. There is no version of this business where your email becomes someone else's list.

Email

Buying a chart gets you transactional email about that order — confirmation and shipping. That's it unless you separately opt in to hear from us, and anything optional has an unsubscribe link that works.

Cookies

We use the minimum: what checkout needs to function, analytics as described above, and — unless you switch it off below — Meta's pixel cookie for advertising measurement. Nothing else.

Your choices

Want to know what we have about you, want it corrected, or want it deleted? Email orders@shearwaternautical.com and we'll do it. Order records we're required to keep for tax and accounting stay for as long as the law requires; everything else is yours to erase.
