Everyone else sells generic map posters or salty “beach house” clichés — rope, anchors, “salt life.” We sell your actual water, accurate to the sounding, in colors that feel like the best day you ever had out there.
Who we are
We’re this audience. We love the water — being on it, near it, around it. Dawn patrols and long sails, summers we measure by the season instead of the calendar, the bay we learned on. Shearwater started because we wanted our water on our own walls and nothing out there did it right: either a stylized map filter with no truth in it, or a raw chart with no life in it, or the same tired rope-and-anchor kitsch.
So we built the thing we wanted. The genuine survey, drawn true, in colors that feel like the best day you ever had out there. A shearwater is a seabird that skims low and fast across open water — on it, near it, alive. That’s the name, and that’s us.

Your actual water — the real NOAA chart, by number, last edition the government published. Every sounding, channel and shoal exactly where they put it. A palette changes the color; it never moves a sounding.
